We are inviting people from across Transport to join the Transport for NSW float at the 2021 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade on Saturday 6 March.
The annual Mardi Gras Parade will be a little different this year. Moving away from the bustling extravaganza that brings Sydney to a standstill, the Parade’s COVIDSafe model will see a move to the Sydney Cricket Ground. Of course it will still shine a global spotlight on LGBTQI lives, culture, communities and creativity.
The theme for the 2021 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras festival is RISE – acknowledging the unprecedented hardships that 2020 presented and celebrating the rising stars and unsung heroes that prevailed through droughts, fires, floods and the pandemic.
Our Parade entry titled “I’M TRANSPORT” celebrates the work that we all do to keep NSW moving. It shows that whether you’re driving a train, building a road, designing a new app for our customers or helping our people get on with their job, you’re an important part of what we do. Our entry also shows our commitment to creating an inclusive culture and a diverse workforce that reflects our customers and communities around NSW.
This is a great opportunity to celebrate Mardi Gras with your Transport colleagues, show your commitment to workplace diversity and have some fun!
This year due to COVIDSafe restrictions our numbers are extremely limited, so we are also giving people the chance to participate without being at the SCG in person. Our float will have images of some of our people in the style of the “I’m Transport” campaign. If you wish to participate remotely please click here and submit your EOI with the image you wish for us to use. Please refer to the staff information pack for guidelines on appropriate images.
Expressions of Interest close at 5pm, Friday 22 January 2021.
Confirmation of a spot in the parade will be communicated via email week commencing 1 February 2021.
Please read the staff information pack – it contains important details about participating in the parade.
